In response to the recent destruction of the Kakhovka dam, the Irish government has pledged one million euro to go towards support for the 16,000 Ukrainians that have been affected by the catastrophe.

Tánaiste and Minister for foreign affairs Micheál Martin commented on the aid and said: “The unfolding crisis in southern Ukraine will place extraordinary pressure on an already vulnerable population,” he continued: “Funding from Ireland will support a locally led response and provide assistance to those most impacted by this catastrophe.”
