For men, the rate decreased to 4.3% from a revised rate of 4.5% in June 2023 and up from 4.1% in July 2022. Unchanged at a female rate of 3.9% in June 2023, which is lower than the rate of 4.4% in July 2022.
Youth unemployment was 10.7% percent, down from a revised estimate of 10.5 percent in June 2023 (youth unemployment rate).
For those between the ages of 25 and 74, the rate has similarly decreased, from 3.3% in June 2023 to 3.1% today.
The seasonally adjusted unemployment rate for July 2023 (for all individuals aged 15 to 74 years) was 4.1 percent, down from a figure of 4.2 percent reported in June 2023 and in July 2022, according to Conor Delves, a statistician at the labour market analysis unit.
“In July 2023, the unemployment rate for men was 4.3%, while it was 3.9% for women.”
In July 2023, 111,900 persons were jobless seasonally adjusted, down from 115,500 in June 2023. The seasonally adjusted number of jobless individuals increased by 100 in July 2023 compared to the same month the previous year.
In July 2023, there were 61,500 seasonally adjusted fewer male jobless people than there were in June 2023 (63,800).
From the 51,600 recorded in June 2023, the seasonally adjusted number of jobless women fell to 50,400 in July 2023.
