Following the current payments controversy, the former host of the Late Late Show will not be coming back to RTÉ.
A message reading “a new dawn, a new day, a new beginning - stay tuned for more” was written beneath a video of the seashore.
The 1977 Fleetwood Mac song Don't Stop was played in the background of the video.
Since June 22nd, Mr. Tubridy has not been on television due to a controversy involving the national broadcaster's underreporting of his fees.
There are presently no plans for Mr. Tubridy to return to his radio programme, according to the new RTÉ director-general Kevin Bakhurst, who made the announcement on Thursday. This is because trust had “broken down” in discussions.
The declaration came after a disagreement over how RTÉ had updated his reported earnings for 2020–2021.
Formerly the highest-paid broadcaster at RTÉ, Mr. Tubridy stated in a statement that the initial statistics, which were lower and did not include payments for a contentious commercial deal, were accurate.
According to Mr. Bakhurst, if agreements had been made at the time, Mr. Tubridy (50) would have resumed his radio programme and launched a new podcast in September.
In reaction to the heated comment, however, the director-general called off the negotiations, claiming the presenter was refusing to accept responsibility for the incident.
