The exhibition will be held in 20,000 square feet of the recently constructed Charlemont Square from October 6 through October 29.
The exhibition, which is being hosted by Gormleys, will include the largest collection of Andy Warhol artwork to be offered for sale in Ireland, including 25 original silkscreens. These works will range from his renowned celebrity portraits, like the stunning Mick Jagger ($170,000), which is signed by both Warhol and Jagger, to his iconic soup cans.
Campbell's Soup Cans I: Green Pea, one of Warhol's well-known soup cans from 1968, will also be on display and costs €88,000.
In addition, the exhibition will include works by prominent Irish artists Patrick O'Reilly, Martin Mooney, Peter Monaghan, Maser, and Gordon Harris, as well as Damien Hirst, Salvador Dali, David Hockney, and Julian Opie.
Other important works include View of Hotel Well by David Hockney ($100,000), Rome Pays Off by Jean-Michel Basquiat ($112,000), Ciclopirox Olamine by Damien Hirst ($22,500), Harland Miller's Hates Out of Date ($21,000), Pop Shop II by Keith Haring ($54,000), and Triumphant Elephant by Salvador Dali ($30,000).
The “most ambitious indoor show to date” by Gormley, it follows the nation's highly successful large-scale Art and Soul outdoor exhibitions.
According to James Gormley of Gormleys: “This is a fantastic opportunity for Dubliners to see some of the greatest artists in the world in a breathtaking setting.”
We are proud to present some of the biggest names in international art alongside leading Irish artists because we are passionate about promoting Irish art.
A sculpture display with life-size works by renowned Irish sculptors Patrick O'Reilly, Ian Pollock, Eamonn Ceannt, and John Fitzgerald will also be included in the exhibition.
Renowned Irish artists will also take centre stage, with Martin Mooney, Peter Monaghan, and Maser each showcasing a new series of paintings.
Also included will be a famous Bear sculpture by Patrick O'Reilly. Heading to Court, (€150,000), is 250cm in height and depicts a teddy bear going to play tennis with a racquet and ball in hand.
“Charlemont Square in Dublin 2 is a new landmark development and part of the transformational Charlemont Street regeneration project, featuring cutting-edge office, retail, dining, and living quarters. It was developed by McGarrell Reilly.”
Its centrepiece is a brand-new central square designed for recreational purposes and the hosting of exciting and varied cultural events.
Deirdre Reilly, COO of McGarrell Reilly said: “McGarrell Reilly is delighted to partner with Gormleys for this exhibition at Charlemont Square as we have long supported the arts.”
We anticipate it will be a special event for the city and are thrilled to host such an exceptional range of artists.
The exhibition is open daily from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. from October 6 through October 29.
