Both John Whelan of Wexford and Eamonn Tracey of Carlow maintained their titles as the Supreme World Ploughing Champions in their respective classes - Mr. Whelan in the reversible class and Mr. Tracey in the conventional class.
The top ploughmen from 26 other nations, mostly from Europe but also from the US, Canada, New Zealand, Australia, and Kenya, competed against the Irish and global champions.
The western Latvian village of Kuldiga hosted the 68th World Ploughing Championship.
