It is one of the projects for which more funding has been allocated in Ireland.
Roderic O'Gorman, Minister of Children, Equality, Disability, Integration, and Youth, announced funding of up to €1,000,000,000 to support organisations of a similar nature in rural towns around Ireland.
The money for AMACH! LGBT's "Community Achieving Equality" project were granted.
The Minister declared that funding will be provided for 25 initiatives.
"A total of €984,482 will be made available to assist the development of rural community infrastructure to be inclusive and welcoming of LGBTI+ persons, address gaps in LGBTI+ services and support existing LGBTI+ community organisations."
In an effort to promote complete equality in Irish society, the government of Ireland introduced the National LGBTI+ Inclusion Strategy in 2019.
"Positive visibility and increased non-stereotypical representation of LGBTI+ identities is vital to support long-term attitudinal change."
"I am delighted to announce a wide range of projects - local and regional – around the country to ensure that every LGBTI+ person in Ireland can avail of important supports and thrive in their community," the minister added.
"This funding of nearly €1,000,000 will enable 25 organisations to support LGBTI+ persons in a range of ways, including health, counselling services, and celebrating Pride," he stated.
