TheCampusAdvisor.com's ratings and reviews were used to create the rankings, which put Galway in seventh place and made it the only Irish city to make it into the top 10.

With a score of 4.47 out of 5, the western city ranked fourth for nightlife and first for “student friendliness.”

With a rating of 4.24 out of five, Cork was ranked as the 22nd best student city overall, whereas Dublin came in lower at number 38 with a rating of 3.96 out of five.

Melbourne, Australia, was voted the world's greatest student city for 2023; the other four cities in the top five were Seoul, South Korea, Berlin, Germany, Newcastle, UK, and Brno, the Czech Republic.

Vienna, Austria, came in sixth place, ahead of Galway. Warsaw, Poland, came in eighth, and Singapore, Montreal, and Canada followed.

The study considered each city's attractions, public transportation, cost of living, and safety in addition to nightlife and student friendliness.

Singapore was ranked first for safety, Melbourne for amenities, Berlin for public transit, Newcastle for nightlife, and Vilnius, Lithuania, for cost of living.
