Support for Sinn Féin is down from 32% last month to 29% in the most recent Irish Business Post/Red C poll, although it is still much higher than that of Fine Gael (20%) and Fianna Fáil (16%).
Additionally, the survey shows that support for independents has increased by 1% to 13%.
The next Irish general election is scheduled for 2025, however, there is growing speculation that it may be conducted earlier, in 2024.
A coalition including Fine Gael, Fianna Fáil, and the Green Party forms the present Government.
Although still strong, support for Sinn Féin has declined, according to a recent survey, from 36% in the middle of the year to 32% last month and 29% this month.
In reports, Fianna Fáil's support has increased by one point to sixteen percent this month, while Fine Gael's support has remained steady at twenty percent both previous and this month.
Regarding the minor parties, the Green Party is still at 4%, the Labour Party has decreased by one point to 4%, and the Social Democrats are at 6%.
When asked if they would rather see a general election held at some time in 2024 than in 2025, a larger percentage of respondents (47%) stated they would rather see an early general election scheduled for next year.
Approximately 29% of respondents expressed a preference for the Government to serve out its whole term until 2025, with 20% expressing no opinion.
The survey was conducted from November 17 to November 22.
