The Musgraves franchise brand is investing €27 million in expansion with the addition of new outlets and jobs. Its new investment strategy includes a renovation of 40 current stores.
There are 496 convenience store locations nationwide in the network at the moment.
Centra announced today that sales across its network reached €2.1 billion in the previous year, a 6% rise over 2022.
It claimed that robust performance in its key categories—which include areas like convenient meals, Frank and Honest coffee, and breakfast and lunch on-the-go was the driving force behind its development.
It said that sales of its own brand range jumped by 12%, ready meals by 17%, bread and cake sales by 7%, and deli and food-to-go sales by 11%.
Its coffee product, Frank & Honest, experienced a 9% year-over-year increase in 2023, while sales of its own ice cream brand, Moo'd, increased by 8% in the same period.
Ian Allen, Managing Director of Centra, stated that the company is always changing its product line to satisfy customers and remain competitive.
"We are continuing to invest in creating innovative and more convenient experiences for our customers, giving them the solution they want for every occasion, whether that is on-the-go breakfast and lunch, or dinner for tonight," added Allen.
"Our Centra retailers are at the heart of every community in Ireland, and I want to pay tribute to them for continuing to deliver to the highest standards of convenience retailing and taking caring of our communities in what remains a very difficult trading environment, with the cumulative cost of business continuing to rise across multiple areas," he said.
