The goal of the initiative is to make the town in North County Dublin, which has the youngest population in the nation, a popular tourist attraction.
The 19,300 square metre property will have a linear park and multipurpose plaza space for fairs, festivals, and events.
The €15 million project is the biggest component of the €50 million Our Balbriggan Rejuvenation Programme 2019–2030. The programme was inspired by a 2019 community engagement initiative.

More than 25% of locals express their ideas for the town's future, with a redesign of the Harbour and Quay St area receiving substantial support.
Darragh O'Brien, Minister of Housing, Local Government, and Heritage, and Cllr Adrian Henchy, Mayor of Fingal, turned the sod on the project together.
It's anticipated that the work will be finished by late 2025.
