Specifically, 669,500 visitors arrived in June 2024, marking an 8% increase from June 2023, as reported by the CSO on Tuesday, July 30.

The largest group of foreign visitors came from Great Britain, accounting for 34% of the total. The United States followed with 24%, while Germany was the third largest, making up 6.5%. On average, these visitors stayed for 7.3 nights, with 45.8% traveling for holiday or leisure.

Total visitor spending reached €962.3 million in June, up 14.4% from the previous year. The average cost per visit was €1,437, which included €415 for fares, €45 for prepayments, €458 for accommodation, and €519 for daily expenses. This was up from an average of €1,357 the previous year.

Hotels were the most popular accommodation choice, with 46.1% of visitors staying in them. Meanwhile, 33.9% stayed with family or friends or in their own properties, 5.9% opted for guest houses or bed and breakfasts, and 5.4% chose rented or self-catering accommodations.

Additionally, the CSO noted an 8.5% increase in visitors in May 2024 compared to May 2023, with 622,300 arrivals.
