Doris played a crucial role in Ireland’s successful 2024 Six Nations campaign, which saw the team clinch their second consecutive title.

During the tournament, he also had the honor of captaining Ireland for the first time. In addition, Doris contributed to Ireland’s series draw in South Africa and was instrumental in Leinster reaching their third consecutive Champions Cup final.

The Ireland Men’s team was awarded the Dave Guiney Guinness Rugby Writers of Ireland Team of the Year in recognition of their triumph in the 2024 Guinness Six Nations Championship. This victory marked Ireland’s sixth title in history and their second consecutive Championship, following their Grand Slam success in 2023.

Amee-Leigh Murphy Crowe was named the Guinness Rugby Writers of Ireland Women’s 7s Player of the Year for the third time in her career. A standout performer during Ireland’s historic debut at the Paris 2024 Olympics, Murphy Crowe also played a pivotal role in securing the squad’s first-ever World Series Gold Medal last season, scoring a decisive try in the final against Australia.

Zac Ward received the Guinness Rugby Writers of Ireland Men’s 7s Player of the Year award for his exceptional performances during the 2023/2024 season. Ward was instrumental in Ireland’s qualification for the Paris

2024 Olympics, where he delivered a critical try in the quarter-final against Fiji. He has since transitioned to the 15s format, joining Ulster Rugby on a trial basis and featuring for Emerging Ireland during their South African tour.

The evening also celebrated two new inductees into the Hall of Fame: Joy Neville and Keith Wood, honored for their extraordinary contributions to rugby, both during their playing careers and beyond.
