According to a story in the Irish Independent, the rumoured tour would span three to four days and would include "elements to promote cultural exchanges, education, and the arts."

The journey to Ireland would be Charles' first overseas trip since his mother, Queen Elizabeth, died and he took the throne. Although it had been anticipated, schedule issues prevented him from coming this summer.

Charles and his wife Camilla last travelled to Ireland in March 2022. The royal couple visited the Brú Ború Cultural Centre in Cashel, Co. Tipperary, where they met the family of Ashling Murphy and saw an Irish dance performance.

Local Cllr. Jim Ryan stated to Tipp FM last week that he requested the tourism department to send an official invitation for King Charles to visit Tipperary in light of the rumours of a potential Irish visit this year. He did this in light of the royal's connection to Lady Elizabeth Poyntz, who lived in Blackcastle in the 1600s and is buried in Thurles.

Once President Joe Bidens visit the King Charles is over more news may come out of the alleged visit of the new King to Ireland.
