The Steeple Veterans Flute Band, which was founded in 2007, said that during their community's July 12 parade, they had always dressed up for the return walk.

The band’s secretary, Lauren Elliott said: “We are a family-orientated band with three generations on parade and we love to entertain the crowds,”

"This year we wanted to make it extra special in memory of one of our members, David Johnston, who sadly passed away.

Alvin Pierce, the band's director, decided on the topic of dinosaurs since his 4-year-old granddaughter is "obsessed with them and all kids love dinosaurs." Even though it was kept a closely guarded secret until they were distributed on the field, Lauren revealed that band members all contributed to the cost of their clothes.

“We love the reaction, and the smiles makes it all worthwhile, but now we have to outdo it next year.”

As they do every Twelfth morning, the band also paid a visit to a nearby nursing home to cheer up the inhabitants.
