Throughout the first two weekends of this month, there will be music, dancing, outdoor activities, walks, and talks as part of the Co Waterford festival, which showcases the natural beauty, cultural legacy, and historical significance of the mountain range and its surrounding areas.

Yesterday's events began with an outdoor performance in the courtyard of Lord Waterford's ancestral home, Curraghmore House and Gardens, with music by the High Kings, Ceol, and other artists.

The customs, history, and scenic splendour of the Comeragh Mountains, Copper Coast, and Nire Valley region will be highlighted throughout the festivities from Thursday through Sunday.

The schedule includes surfing at Bunmahon, the Nire Valley Drop and Gravel Bike Challenge off-road cycling race, and a performance at Clonea Power Church with Lisa Hannigan, Gemma Hayes, and Paul Noonan.

In addition, there will be guided hikes and hill walks, storytelling and singing sessions, live music performances, and outdoor dance. The festival will culminate with a Feast in the Forest that showcases the finest locally produced fresh cuisine.

Organiser Bernadette Drohan stated, “The Comeraghs Wild Festival has gone from strength to strength and our 10th birthday celebrations will be extra special.”

“The early bird ticketing for our Curraghmore opening performance is selling quickly on Eventbrite, so we're going to extend it over the next several days. We've restricted the quantity of tickets to make it an even more memorable and private evening for everyone, and it will be a lovely evening in Curraghmore.”
