The competition will include some of the best show jumpers in the world.

Over 160 classes and contests, including show jumping, performance, and showing divisions, will be contested by riders, horses, and ponies.

There will be more than 350 display stalls at the horse show.

Show Director Pat Hanly stated in a statement before to the show that the Dublin Horse Show is a "vital contribution to the Irish sport horse industry".

"Over the five days we will showcase the very best in horsemanship – both international and national and in keeping with the ethos of the RDS, Positive Strides which highlights the power of equine-assisted therapy and care is back at the show on Friday, Saturday and Sunday," he stated.

The Defender Puissance is scheduled for Saturday, while the Nations Cup is scheduled for Friday at the main arena.

On Sunday is the show jumping competition for the €500,000 Rolex International Grand Prix.
