The Dublin location was rated higher than botanical gardens in the Czech Republic, the UK, Italy, France, and Sweden, among other nations. Dublin topped the list according to Accor's research, which examined each garden in relation to its pricing, popularity online, quantity of facilities, pleasant aesthetic experiences, and Google ratings.

Founded in 1795 by the Dublin Society (later the Royal Society Dublin), the gardens are situated in Glasnevin. They currently house millions of dried plant specimens in addition to over 20,000 live plants.

The popular tourist destination is well-known for its exquisite examples of vintage glasshouses from the early to mid-1900s. With the exception of Christmas Day, the gardens are open daily all year round and entrance is free.
