The new service will be a part of a long-term wholesale relationship between Vodafone and Sky, utilising the latter's mobile network and linking it to the mobile core network of Sky Ireland.

In addition to 4G calling, Sky Mobile claims to provide 5G and over 99% 4G coverage nationwide, both of which are included in its base package.

Consumers will have the option of selecting SIM-only plans or SIM plans that work with Samsung, Xiaomi, and HMD smartphones.

JD Buckley, CEO of Sky Ireland, stated, "Our launch plan is unlimited calls, texts, and 5G data for €15 and that price is for life."

"Our Sky Mobile proposition has been built with our customers at its core - providing a service that is fair, flexible and transparent," Mr Buckley added.

Customers will get access to 'roam like home' services in 44 countries, including the UK and EU, and worldwide roaming services, the business claimed, accessible in over 150 countries.
