Located near the current campus on Northland Road, the 15,000 square metre indoor sports and leisure arena will be the first of its kind in Northern Ireland and will provide investment in shared sports space.

With full-size fields fit for rugby, Gaelic games, and soccer, as well as other sports, community, and musical events, the Ulster University Dome will turn the former Foyle College location in the city into a shared sporting area.

The dome will have a recreational trail and an exterior border. It will be connected to Ulster University's Derry campus and parking lots, making it a communal gathering place in the city that can accommodate thousands of spectators.

Ulster University will match the £9.04 million (€10.86 million) investment made through PEACEPLUS, a program run by the Special EU Programmes Body (SEUPB), to significantly improve its northwestern student and community facilities.
