Transport analytics firm Inrix reported that drivers in Dublin spent 81 hours stuck in traffic in 2024, a 13% increase from the previous year.
Galway ranked as Ireland’s second most congested city, with drivers facing 65 hours of delays, while Cork followed in third place with 51 hours. London had the worst traffic congestion in Europe, with motorists experiencing 101 hours of delays, followed by Paris at 97 hours.
Globally, Dublin ranked as the 15th most congested city, while Istanbul topped the list.
The ranking considers delay durations, adjusted for city population size. Inrix stated that its analysis was based on data from various sources, including mobile devices and vehicles.
