Her coverage will span north and east Kildare, north Wicklow, east Meath, and Dublin. She will cover a wide range of articles on politics, economy, and culture.
The Dublin mother of two, who was attending University College Dublin (UCD) to study sociology and English, initially signed on with RTÉ as a runner in November 2000. She is from Finglas.
After being hired as a reporter in 2005, she has gone on to host several of the main news shows on RTÉ Radio, such as Drivetime and Morning Ireland.
Libreri will start her new job in late May, according to RTÉ.
"As someone who was born and reared on the northside of Dublin and who has lived and worked all my life in the capital, being appointed RTÉ’s eastern correspondent is a dream come true," she stated on her new position.
In addition to sharing the stories of people who live in Meath, Kildare, and Wicklow's commuter belt with audiences, I hope to use my twenty years of reporting experience to this new and expanded role to keep them informed about the major developments in Dublin that affect people who visit, live in, and work in the capital.
