Ireland Women have been relegated from their Euro 2025 group after losing 1-0 to Sweden.

Despite a much improved performance from that of last Friday against the same opponents, Ireland still failed to score a goal that has eluded them so far in this qualifying campaign.

The ‘Girls in Green’ almost managed to hold on for a draw against the 3rd ranked team in the world. However, a late goal from Bayern Munich’s Magdalena Eriksson gave the Swedes a vital win for them in Group A3.

Despite being relegated from the group, Eileen Gleeson's team will still have to play games against England and France next month.
