The company has applied for planning permission to construct a four-storey addition to an existing production and warehouse building, adding 12,207 square meters of floor space across four levels.

This is the latest step in the beverage giant’s significant investment plans for the Cork site.

Last year, PepsiCo completed a €127 million expansion of its Research and Development facilities in Little Island. Shortly after, it announced another €39 million expansion for the Irish base to meet increasing business demand.

PepsiCo, which produces concentrates for global brands such as Pepsi, 7Up, and Mountain Dew, now employs over 1,250 people across Ireland, with more than 640 based in Cork.

PepsiCo is celebrating 50 years in Cork this year. Its first concentrate manufacturing plant opened in Little Island in 1974 with just 30 employees.

The latest planning decision is currently at the pre-validation stage with Cork County Council, with a decision expected by the end of next month.
