The upbeat song by the youthful rap groups has become one of the summer's biggest hits, receiving 1.3 billion views on TikTok and half a billion views on Instagram. RTÉ News, BBC News, The Guardian, Time, and the New York Times have all featured the song.
The Kabin Crew performed at Pukkelpop in the hamlet of Hasselt, 45 miles from Brussels, on Saturday following their performance at Electric Picnic in Co Laois. The Kabin Crew was a part of a weekend program that also included Fontaines D.C., Stormzy, Sugababes, and Sam Smith.
The children, who range in age from nine to twelve, recorded The Spark at The Kabin Studio, a non-profit youth music venue in Knocknaheeny, on Cork City's northside. The studio is housed in a reused metal container.
