After having issues with his 250 Honda, Michael Dunlop lost the Lightweight race at the Manx Grand Prix. Ian Lougher took advantage of this and won on the Laycock Racing Yamaha.

At Ramsey hairpin, Dunlop had a six-second lead, but that dropped to three at the Bungalow. The Ballymoney man was then past due at Cronk-ny-Mona, finally finishing 38 seconds behind Lougher.

The 29-time TT winner crossed the finish line in a limping 15th place.

Lee Johnston of Fermanagh, making his road racing comeback after an injury, finished in second place.
