Coinciding with the announcement, The Saw Doctors are set to release a brand-new single, Quicksand, this Friday across iTunes, Spotify, and other streaming platforms. Written by Paul Cunniffe, who co-wrote the band’s iconic No. 1 hit I Useta Lover alongside Davy Carton, Leo Moran, and Padraig Stevens, Quicksand is highly anticipated by fans.

The announcement follows the completion of the band’s four-month “comeback” tour, which featured sold-out shows at venues including Custom House Square in Belfast, Castlefield Bowl in Manchester, and Kelvingrove Park in Glasgow. The tour also saw stops in Munich, Cologne, Brussels, Amsterdam, Boston, and Chicago, culminating with two hometown performances at the Galway Arts Festival Big Top in July.

The Galway band’s debut album, If This Is Rock ’n’ Roll, I Want My Old Job Back—featuring the classic track N17—has sold over half a million copies worldwide.

Additionally, The Saw Doctors are scheduled to perform at Virgin Media Park in Cork on Saturday, June 14, 2025.

In other news, BRIT Award-winning singer-songwriter Daniel Bedingfield has announced a Dublin show at The Academy on Wednesday, May 21, 2025.

Bedingfield rose to fame in the early 2000s with chart-topping hits like Gotta Get Thru This, If You’re Not The One, and Never Gonna Leave Your Side. His debut album peaked at No. 2 on the UK Albums Chart and has sold over four million copies globally.
