It comes after the last 15 kilometres of the road from Mogeely to Youghal are completed. An 8-kilometer stretch from Midleton to Mogeely was made public earlier this year.
In the centre of east Cork, the eagerly awaited 23-kilometer Midleton to Youghal Greenway connects to Midleton Train Station providing train connectivity to the rest of the nation.
The greenway will be accessible to the general public via the MacCurtainstown parking lot in Youghal, the trailheads at Midleton Station, Mogeely, and Killeagh.
As the mayor of County Cork, Joe Carroll, has stated that the greenway will become a must-visit location in Ireland's Ancient East, there are great expectations that it will act as a catalyst for economic growth and tourism development in east Cork.
🎉 The excitement is building as the second and final phase of the Midleton Youghal Greenway, which extends from Mogeely through Killeagh, will open to the public THIS Thursday, the 19th of December.

Cork County Council Chief Executive Moire Murrell said the initiative aims to address the demands of commuter towns along the N25 in terms "of active travel, recreation, well-being, and connection to nature."
Early in 2025, the county's first greenway will formally open.
The Department of Transport and Transport Infrastructure Ireland provided financial support for the 23-kilometer project, and local farmers and property owners who bordered the greenway worked with Iarnród Éireann to finish it.
The Waterford Greenway, the Great Western Greenway in County Mayo, the Old Rail Trail in County Westmeath, the Limerick Greenway, the Royal Canal Greenway from Dublin to Longford, and the Suir Blueway in County Tipperary are the six more greenways that exist in the nation at the moment.
There are plans for several others across the nation, particularly in the counties of Kerry and Louth.
