Over 100,000 passengers have passed through Dublin Airport in more than 171 days this year. The airport, which will celebrate its 85th anniversary in January, was constructed to handle 100,000 people annually when it first opened in 1940.

All year long, the airport's food and drink establishments were bustling due to the surge in passengers. According to Dublin Airport, their cafes provided over 2.5 million cups of tea and coffee to travellers annually, which is equivalent to one cup of tea or coffee being poured every 12 seconds.

Passengers purchased 500,000 packets of Tayto and over 1.5 million pints of Guinness. With 72 tonnes sold at Dublin Airport over the course of the year, Toblerone emerged as the most popular chocolate among travellers this year.

In 2024, 56% of the over 19,000 items that were turned in to the airport's lost and found division were given back to their owners.

Over 2,300 bags were turned in, making luggage the most often encountered item in the terminals and campus area. Along with 750 sets of keys, over 1,000 cell phones were also turned in. Laptops were another often misplaced item in the airport in 2024; this year, over 550 were found.
