The development's first phase, which will include apartments with one, two, and three bedrooms, should be finished by the end of the following year.
According to the LDA, 35 of the homes will be used for social housing, while 310 will be made available for rent.
Cost rental programs give people long-term housing for less than market rates. They are designed to help people who might struggle to pay for private rent and are not qualified for other State housing assistance.
Four distinct apartment buildings will make up the new complex, which will be located at the Crown Square location on Galway's east side.
There will be 240 properties with two bedrooms, 86 with one bedroom, and 19 with three bedrooms.
The Land Development Agency (LDA) has today announced the planned delivery of 345 new homes at Crown Square in Galway — delivered in partnership with @JJRhatigan and have been secured under the LDA’s Homebuilder Partnership initiative (Project Tosaigh) https://t.co/YsT10vLD6K

The housing component is a component of a larger design for a mixed-use development on Mervue Road that will also contain retail, commercial, and recreational establishments.
The announcement is a component of the LDA's 'Project Tosaigh' plan, which aims to develop new homes by collaborating with private builders.
By 2028, it is projected that 8,000 units would have been completed nationally. In addition, the Agency is constructing houses on several State-owned properties in the Galway area.
Although there are currently no definite completion dates, plans for affordable housing have been revealed for Dyke Road, Sandy Road, and Galway Harbour.
