The kind of training is now limited to the military academy in the Curragh, but under the new proposal, it will also be offered at two more sites over the course of the following 12 months.
With the use of the new technology, soldiers may improve their abilities in a variety of circumstances, such as driving armoured personnel vehicles and initiating artillery fire as necessary.
According to the Defence Forces, the new techniques are less expensive, minimise mistakes in the real world, and enable more effective use of tools and weapons.
Commandant Joe Tynan, Chief Instructor at the Cavalry School, stated that there are obvious benefits to the new technology.
"The benefit is that we can improve the performance of our warriors. We can't just toss them into the deep end; it provides them additional opportunities to practise doing their jobs more effectively and safely. We must advance their instruction. We must help them grow," he remarked.
