Before heading off on their arena tour in 2025, the rock group will be performing in the city on September 13, two days after their September 11 gig at KOKO London.
Gary Lightbody, Nathan Connolly, and Johnny McDaid are on tour in promotion of their new record, which is their first in six years. Their debut album following the departure of bassist Paul Wilson and drummer Johnny Quinn is titled "The Forest is The Path," and it is scheduled for release on September 13.
The album's third single, "All," was made available on August 8.
"Blown away by the reaction it has been getting from crowds hearing it for the first time," stated frontman Gary Lightbody.
Together with Fraser T. Smith, the album's producer and collaborator on songs for Adele and Stormzy, Lightbody wrote the song.
In July, Snow Patrol began their European and UK tour; an eight-date arena tour of the UK and Ireland is scheduled to begin in February 2025.
According to Lightbody, "The Forest is The Path" is a work that requires contemplation, introspection, and analysis. One of its main tenets is the notion of love that transcends time.
"Love from a distance meant to me the way a relationship sits in your memory from a distance of, say, 10 years," he said. "I haven't been in a relationship for a very long time, 10 years or more."
“That’s not something I’d previously thought about as a way to write about love.
“So, it’s like, when you’re in love, you’re standing in the lobby of the Empire State Building. When you’ve broken up with that person, you’re out in the street."
"You're not inside the building anymore, but you can still see it. And ten years later, you find yourself standing in Brooklyn and gazing at the skyline of Manhattan."
