On March 29, the BKT United Rugby Championship matchup with Munster will begin at 2.30 p.m. at Hastings Insurance MacHale Park in Castlebar.
The province will now play at intercounty GAA grounds, following Munster, Leinster, and Ulster, after the proposed fixture was agreed by the GAA Central Council earlier this month.
It's amazing. Pete Wilkins, the head coach of Connacht, stated, "Everyone is happy that the deal was completed, including those in Mayo and us here in Galway and everywhere else around the place."
The current renovation of Connacht's Dexcom Stadium is largely to blame for the change, which has reduced The Sportsground's capacity to just over 4,000.
Additionally, Wilkins hopes the game will help Connacht Rugby reach a wider audience throughout the province, as the Castlebar arena can accommodate 25,000 spectators.
